How can Jute save The Planet?
Biodegradable
Jute biodegradation is relatively quick compared to other materials. Under the right conditions (warmth, moisture, presence of microbes), jute products can decompose within 1-2 years. This makes jute a sustainable choice as it doesn't pile up in landfills for extended periods.
Renewable
Jute's rapid growth cycle allows for multiple harvests within a year, replenishing the resource quickly thus making it a renewable resource. Jute thrives in tropical regions with ample rainfall, eliminating the need for extensive irrigation systems that can strain water resources.
Carbon Neutrality
While jute cultivation does have some carbon footprint, the CO2 absorbed by the growing plants comes close to balancing it out. Studies suggest the net carbon footprint of jute is 20-50% lower than synthetic fibers like nylon or polyester.
Let us save The Planet
A biodegradable fibre, jute can also be composted. It poses no harm to the environment and doesn’t contaminate it either, which makes it a far safer option than some other fabrics out there.
Jute bags are mostly lightweight yet sturdy. They are more resistant to wear and tear, compared to fabrics like cotton, which makes them suitable for storing rice or sugar. They are also easy to carry around.
Jute bags are reusable and also fairly simple to wash and clean. There are also waterproof variants of jute bags available.
